I Tried Dyson’s Supersonic Hair Dryer and It’s the Only Hair Tool I’ll Ever Need

As a professional, the Supersonic caught my attention straight away. I've used it pretty much ever since it launched (for editorial jobs as well as in my work with celebrity clients) but had never tried it firsthand as a consumer—until now, that is. Before I tested it myself, I assumed that if you weren’t a professional using it every day, you wouldn’t need to splurge on such a fancy product to keep under your bathroom sink. But honestly, this trial period has completely shifted my perspective. Read on for my review.

This Flat Iron Gave Me Sleek, Smooth Strands for 4 Days—And It’s Under $20

My relationship with flat irons hasn't always been friendly, to say the least. Case in point: When I was 15 years old and wanting stick-straight hair, I literally resorted to using a clothes iron because the irons at CVS just didn’t straighten my hair well at all! (One word: nope.)

Even now, as a professional hairstylist, it's been tough to find a budget-friendly hair straightener that really does the job—which is why I was looking forward to testing Remington's bestselling 1-Inch Anti-Static Flat Iron. The takeaway? This iron renewed my faith. I can now say with confidence that there are affordable flat irons out there that aren’t going to compromise your desired results. Read on for my full review.

Thanks to This Hair Dryer, I’m Never Getting a Salon Blowout Again

As a hairstylist, T3's Cura Luxe Professional Ionic Hair Dryer first caught my attention years ago—and its irresistibly sleek design has had me drooling ever since. All white everything with hints of rose gold? Sign me up. I don’t know about you, but when my beauty tools and products look as beautiful as they make me feel, it’s a huge selling point for me. And good design isn’t just about appearances—this dryer has an ergonomic grip that adds serious comfort to the job of blow-drying. (That’s right, I said it. Blow-drying is a job, people!) Needless to say, when I got the chance to test it out for myself, I was more than a little bit excited. Read on for my honest review.

I Tried Bed Head’s Curlipops Styling Wand and It Was the Best $30 I’ve Spent

I’ve never been a curling wand gal. I’ve always preferred an iron with a clamp for more control and versatility over the look I want to create, though I don’t create them for myself often. So when I had the opportunity to test the Bed Head Curlipops 1-Inch Tourmaline Ceramic Styling Iron, I wasn’t expecting it’d be my cup of tea. With no settings to choose from, this is a pretty straightforward tool. But instead of feeling limited by its functionality, I found it to be kind of empowering.

I Tried Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray and It Gave My Flat Roots New Life

Undone, effortless texture has been a long-standing, covetable trait when it comes to hairstyles, so when hair care company Oribe put that “je ne sais quois” vibe into a single can, it made us all a little “hair-obsessed.” Ever since Oribe released its Dry Texturizing Spray to the world, dry texture spray has become a must-have item in the beauty closets of every hair type. It’s a product that gives the hair an instant refresh; a positive jolt of energy to the hair that makes it come alive. I was extremely impressed with how good my hair looked after using this spray from Oribe and how long it lasted. I was surprised at how tempted I was to keep spraying it for scent's sake with no end in sight. This highly tantalizing cult-favorite does not disappoint.

Living Proof’s Heat Protection Spray Made My Hair Feel Healthier in Minutes

As someone who doesn’t use a lot of heat on her hair, I wasn’t sure what to think when I signed up to do a trial of Living Proof’s Restore Instant Protection spray. Could a heat protectant provide much for someone who doesn’t use irons regularly? This particular product claims not only to protect hair from direct heat application, but to protect it from indirect heat (UV rays), static, and frizz, all while giving the hair a lightweight shine. Eager to see if this could help my dull, frizzy mane, I opted to give the spray a chance.

L’Oréal Paris' Elvive Clay Shampoo Kept My Hair Hydrated—And It's Only $5

Oily roots are a natural occurrence no matter what hair type or lifestyle you have (and dry shampoos are only a temporary, band-aid solution). Clarifying shampoos can help to refresh our oily roots, but too much use actually strips the natural oils we need for healthy strands and leads to dull color and dried-out ends. Enter a rebalancing shampoo that cures both oily roots and dried ends: L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Shampoo.

I Tested Olaplex's Bond Maintenance System and It Transformed My Hair Overnight

After recently trying their Hair Perfector and Bond Maintenance Shampoo and Conditioner on myself, I was left in such disbelief at how much better my hair felt—and immediately—that I had to dig in a little and learn what was responsible for such a promising and effective change to my strands. To put it simply, I’ve become a hardcore convert. And I strongly believe that anyone who isn’t using the Olaplex at-home system right now needs to switch over, ASAP.

Garnier's Grow Strong Shampoo Revived My Damaged Hair After Just One Use

When it comes to my in-shower products, you might say I’m a bit of a hair snob. The last time I bought my shampoos and conditioners from a major retailer like Target or CVS was when I was in college (that was a long time ago). As a professional hairstylist, I’ve become accustomed to finer things, only using higher-end products that most salons would use on their clientele, so when I was asked to test the Garnier Fructis Grow Strong Shampoo, I knew it’d be an interesting break from my norm. I was quite curious to put a more affordable option into my rotation and see how it held up against its higher-end competitors.

I Tried Weleda’s Skin Food Lotion and It Visibly Improved My Dry, Sensitive Skin

Moisturizers are endlessly catering to every area of the skin—hands, feet, face, body, scars, cracks, stretch marks—their tubes and tubs sneakily hoarding themselves in our bathroom cabinets, purses, and nightstands. After recently testing Weleda’s Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream, I felt like the clouds had parted, and I had been given a clear, directional solution for my winter skin woes. Skin Food was able to nourish the most dried, cracked areas of my feet, and yet it also gave my face a dewy, glowy complexion, enabling me to sub-out the careful efforts of applying the occasional highlighter.

Oribe's Après Beach Wave Spray Creates Perfectly Tousled Hair

Beach waves became a huge sensation in hair care starting in the early 2000s, replacing the stick-straight strands and crimped subsections of '90s styles. And there's good reason why this style's popularity hasn't wavered to this day: beach waves exude an effortless, natural version of beauty. It's that undone yet somehow put-together hair many of us get from spending a day swimming in the ocean or riding the surf, which by extension emanates a relaxed, blissful energy. With no end to this look in sight, it was easy for me to take an interest in testing Oribe's Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray. The product promises a moisturized, shiny version of the coveted beach wave look for the everyday, without the gritty, salty feel of the ocean.

The Revlon One-Step Hot Air Brush Gave My Hair Serious Lift

Doing my own hair isn’t typically where I like to spend a lot of my time, so when I got asked to test the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Hot Air Brush, it was an easy yes. Hot brushes are a 2-in-1 user-friendly option for getting a salon-quality blowout from the comfort of your home in little to no time. It also leaves out the learning curve of using two hands at once with a round brush (something I realize is an extremely foreign feeling if you aren’t a hairstylist like myself). That alone is enough of a selling point in my opinion, but this particular brush also claims to offer volume. Keep reading to see what I discovered.
